The story behind the artwork
The woman in the artwork is one of the closest people in my life. She has supported me and helped me many times over the years, and she means a great deal to me. In a way, she is also the reason I started making art. She was the one who first planted the idea in my head and inspired me to try assembling my very first wooden pixel artwork. I did — and I simply never stopped.
That very first piece belongs to her.
One year later, I created The Lovers, portraying her together with her husband, as a wedding gift. Because of that, this artwork carries a very personal meaning for me. It connects the beginning of my artistic journey with an important moment in the life of someone who has played such a meaningful role in mine.
